machinist, precision metal part

Vacuum Chuck Project

We work with metals such as, steel, brass and aluminum. In the photos, we start with a block (aluminum), but eventually it becomes a precision metal part. The goal is to achieve tolerances measured in single-digit microns. To machinists this is a common practice, but it still amazes when I view the finished products here at Pawtuckaway Machine. I’ll be posting some before any after projects shortly. The metal parts in the second photograph to the left are from another job, but you can see they all start from single blocks.
