During this month of September 2018 we were tasked with repairing two broken spring rods that are part of a rock crusher machine from a local excavator. The funny story is this client is currently working on excavating my lot for a new home.
He handed me two rods and said “I’m helping you, you have to help me”!
Our team went to work. Measurement were taken, designs were created, the MAZAK was programmed, stock was ordered.
I took a group of photos over three days to document the precision tooling.
From my point of view, I find it all amazing. Its rare for me to know what the tool will be used for, but it this project I was able to located an image online that displays a rock crusher diagram. At the bottom of the drawing you can view the “spring rod” assembly.
